If you haven't watched it, its on Netflix instant right now. Go watch. Some questions you never ask when you see these creatures perform in person, are answered. Makes you realise Seaworld is nothing but a circus only using Orcas instead of lions and giraffes and elephants.

I once saw a pod of killer whales from the ferry, it was pretty sweet.
I don't know if they touched on this in the documentary, but killer whales eat anything. Seals, Great Whites, Moose, whatever.

Yeah. They showed a group of orcas hunting a seal. Very intelligent pack hunting

Watched it today because I saw it & it was mentioned on oppo. Very interesting. I remember in 90, I was 9 seeing the shamu show. And back in 2008 going to SeaWorld again & making sure to check out the orcas. We have the show from 90 ov VHS somewhere. I always assumed the trainers were marine biologist of some sort, but really 20somethings just needing a job.
If they still have orcas in 10 Yeats I'll probably take my kids to see them. But if not I won't be disappointed. As a Midwesterner it really has no immediate effect on me. But it is kinda messed up how they hunted them in the 70s to capture the first ones and essentially calfnapp the youngens.
Good watch, condolences for the families of the deceased trainers.
